The night of Wednesday, August 2, 2006 will not soon be
forgotten by the residents of Combermere, ON.
The storm, reportedly two F2 tornado, which cut a path
of destruction from Kamaniskeg Lake to the west through
to the Rockingham Road on the east, lasted only minutes
but changed the landscape forever. Despite the
physical devastation, there was no loss of life.
"No one
expected the fury the sky would unleash later in the
evening when two level F2 tornadoes touched down,
leaving behind a trail of destruction, mayhem, and
million dollar memories. How no one was killed or
seriously injured in the storm that packed winds of up
to 240 kms. per hour has many people bewildered..."
